Important 2022 CSA Update
After much deliberation we have made the difficult decision not to offer
Pickup CSA shares for the 2022 farming season.
We will still be offering market shares for the Waterville and Orono farmers markets, and serving our local community through the Maine Highlands online farmers market.
What's community supported agriculture?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a way for farmers and consumers to connect and form a relationship based on an appreciation of good, local food!
You get convenient access to an array of MOFGA-certified organic, in-season produce fresh from our fields to you! CSA shares provide an easy way for you and your family to eat healthier, nutrient dense foods, grown right here in the Maine Highlands. In addition to delicious good-for-you food, you’re also supporting young farmers and the viability of sustainable certified organic farming in rural Maine.
CSA is an arrangement between Marr Pond Farm and our customers (we also call them ‘members’ or ‘share holders’) where members buy a share of the farms harvest before the season gets going. Shares provide income to the farm during the spring when we are purchasing the seeds and supplies to grow your produce.
We offer two types of shares to meet the need of different types of households and eaters,
Market Shares and Pick Up Shares.
New for 2021– We’re excited to offer SNAP as a payment option for our Pick Up Shares!
