What's community supported agriculture?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a way for farmers and consumers to connect and form a relationship based on on appreciation of good, local food!

CSA is an arrangement between Marr Pond Farm and our customers (we also call them ‘members’ or ‘share holders’) where members buy a share of the farms harvest before the season gets going. Shares provide income to the farm during the spring when we are purchasing the seeds and supplies to grow your produce. It’s basically a membership or subscription.

We offer a CSA “Market” Share, which allows the customer to purchase a debit card at any time during the season, that they can spend at our farmers market booths throughout the season. The minimum amount is $100, and customers receive a 5% bonus added to their card. For CSA amounts over $400, the bonus is 10%.

To purchase a Market Share CSA, just come to the Orono or Waterville farmers markets and set one up right there. Or, you can mail a check to us, and we’ll send you a gift card.

We’re excited to offer SNAP as a payment option for our Market Shares!
