What's a Market Share?

Market Share members get to choose what’s in your share from all of our fresh, healthy farmers market or pre-order offerings. This includes over 50 varieties of delicious organic vegetables and herbs, fresh cut flowers, vigorous seedlings, and log-grown shiitake mushrooms. 

We don’t ‘black out’ or limit any items to our CSA members, so you can use your share and share bonus to purchase absolutely anything we grow, with no exceptions! In fact we encourage you to try new things. We’re happy to chat about what’s in season and how to prepare whatever you find at our stand.

Where can I use my share?

Market Shares come loaded on a ‘debit’ style card, and you’re welcome to send friends or family to the market with your card too. 

 

Members can use their share to shop with us at the Orono Farmers Market on Saturdays and Tuesdays, or the Downtown Waterville Farmers Market on Thursdays.

Market Share members have the flexibility to shop at any of our farmers markets throughout the season. You can come every week, or once a season, it’s up to you! We begin farmers markets in early May and continue through at least November. We begin the Orono Tuesday market in mid to late July. Click here to learn more about our farmers market locations. 

How much does it cost?

Market Shares are designed to be purchased as a seasons worth of produce for your household. We welcome purchases of smaller shares and gift shares too. Gifts of Market Shares can be a great way to treat a loved one, support a family in need, or say thank you to a valued member of your community!

We offer three tiers of membership, that earn a 5% to 15% farmer’s appreciation bonus. The farmer’s appreciation bonus is added to your share balance as our thank you for your commitment to eating locally with Marr Pond Farm. 

To figure out what size share is right for your household, think about what you would like to spend per week on vegetables, mushrooms and flowers. Then multiply it by how many weeks you anticipate coming to market. Marr Pond Farm will be attending markets for at least 20 weeks (the Orono Tuesday market is closer to 15 weeks.) 

Ex. $20 x 15 weeks = $300 CSA share

Our minimum market share balance is $100. Shares of $100-$399 earn a 5% bonus, shares of $400-$999 earn a 10% bonus, and shares of $1,000 or more earn a 15% bonus. Year-end share balances roll over from year to year, and may be transferred to family or friends.

Ready to sign up?

We offer several ways to sign up for Market Shares. In season, just catch us at any of our farmers markets and ask for a share! It takes a couple of minutes to sign up, so we ask that you either let us know ahead of time you’d like to get a share or wait until after peak market to get signed up.

You can also write down the following information:

  • That you would like to sign up for a Market Share
  • Your full name
  • Your phone number 
  • Your mailing address
  • Your email
  • Where you’ll primarily be using your share
  • Whether you’d like us to mail your Market Share card or give you your card at the next market

And mail your information along with a check to:
