Pickup Shares

“With the changes brought by the global pandemic the CSA made shopping at the Farmer’s Market seem more safe. I have been making purchases from Marr Pond for years at the market so a CSA just made sense. ” – K.D.

“My CSA was wonderful and very convenient to have a fresh source of a wide variety of produce every week. ” – M.F.B.

“(Getting a CSA) is such a smart idea. I especially if you eat a lot (or want to start eating a lot) of fresh veggies. My CSA has helped me learn to be a better cook by forcing me to use food items I might not have tried otherwise. ” -D.T.

Important 2022 CSA Update

After much deliberation we have made the difficult decision not to offer
Pickup CSA shares for the 2022 farming season.

We will still be offering market shares for the Waterville and Orono farmers markets, and serving our local community through the Maine Highlands online farmers market.

What's a PickUp Share?

Sign up for a Pickup Share to help you and your family get excited about vegetables, eat healthier, and cook more!

Pickup Shares include an array of seasonally balanced, organic, flavorful, nutritious, fresh produce in your box each week. This farmer’s choice share provides you a taste of everything we grow, while focusing your share around seasonal culinary staples.

You also get the Marr Pond Farm CSA Newsletter with info about what’s goin’ on around the farm, what’s in your share, and our favorite ways to prepare the week’s selection.

Pickup Shares are designed for two people who love to eat veggies. Larger families may want to purchase two shares if they cook frequently. Take a look at pictures of past shares if you’re unsure if the amount is right for you. We also offer Half Pickup Shares. These shares provide the same size box of produce, picked up every other week through the CSA season.

“The CSA is good value. I actually had less food waste because in the past I would over purchase at the market and then food would spoil before we consumed it, so we also saved money.” – K.D.

“It was easy to cook with all the veggies every week (not all the CSA shares are like that!) and nothing went to waste… supporting part of our local community feels good. I take my veggies with my heart full of gratitude every Saturday and the details, effort, honesty that comes with every interaction is part of the reason why I support Marr Pond Farm.” – A.L.

“The produce is always fresh, plentiful and the full share is a great value for the cost… (Also) the farms staff are friendly and remember your name at pickup which was awesome. ” – T.M.

  • Downtown Orono
  • The Downtown Waterville Farmers Market
  • Downtown Dover-Foxcroft
  • Or at your participating Workplace Partner (ex. Mayo Regional Hospital) or Drop-Site location

Pickup shares delivered to farmers markets can be picked up at any time during your market, but we recommend coming early so your share stays cool.

For more details on our locations check our our FAQ section.

How much does it cost?

Full shares cost about $26.50 per week for 16 weeks, for a total of $425 per full share.

Half shares cost about $29 per week are picked up every other week for 16 weeks, for a total of $235 per half share. These shares are the same sized box as full share.

NEW for 2021: We now accept SNAP/EBT payment and offer 50% discounted shares to our SNAP members! Sign up today, or email or call us for more info.

Each season we aim to give our members about $50 extra in produce over the course of the season for full shares, or $25 for half shares, as a thank you for eating locally with Marr Pond Farm!

We know not every vegetable will be your favorite, this extra value also means even if you compost of give away a certain veggie or two all season you’re still using the full amount of veggies you paid for.

We require a deposit of $100 to reserve your share, and ask that shares are paid in full as early as possible to support the farm while we’re incurring our biggest expenses for the year, like buying seeds, compost, and potting soil. Payment plans are available by request. Shares must be paid in full by June 1st.

We don’t want cost to be a barrier to anyone’s access to eating well, so please let us know if you would like to discuss a payment plan or work-trade opportunities.

We also consider barter offers on a case-by-case basis! Please be in touch with us as early in the season as possible if you’d like to make alternative arrangements.
